I signed up for the free box to try it because I have a slight subscription box addiction and love health foods. I get the box about a month later.

Half the items were expired and it was just gross. So I write "delete urthbox" on my notepad of things to do. A few days later I'm sitting at my desk at work and go to the website to delete my account. Nowhere could I find an unsubscribe link or anything of the sort.

I get back to work and save the stress for later. Like a day later I see in my bank account I was charged about $75 for a six month subscription! So I go to the website and search and search and search for any cancel button but none can be found. So I decide it's time to contact them.

I go to Q and A and thats where I find you have to email them personally to cancel. Ug! What company does that? So I email them and say, I dont want it," and they say, "You had to email us yesterday because that's when the renewal cutoff date was." I said that I tried and couldn't figure it out and demanded a refund.

I also said that no customer should have to go to the Q and A section to figure out how to cancel. They said, in a nutshell, too bad so sad we got your money enjoy our *** box subscription. The responses were so rehearsed and memorized so you know somebody sits there all day and just screws people over. I got no confirmation email, never approved a 6 month subscription, was never warned about autorenewal.

They are a horrible, unprofessional, scamming business.

They shouldnt even be called a business. I don't know how they've survived this long.

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Urthbox Cons: Awful customer service, Scam artists, Poor value, Expired products, Predatory automatic subscription.

You should've read the "Terms & Conditions" before you agreed to them. The cancellation information & everything were stated there.

Regardless they have the WORST customer service of any company I've ever encountered. They were so rude and do not value their customers in any way. On top of that the products sucked and were expired.

Same thing happened to me except I was charge $175. The snacks were gross and expired
